By Patrick Wheeler: The circus arrives in Hanley Park for one night only in aid of The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice Trust.
Circus Starr has been wowing audiences across the UK for 25 years and raising funds for more than 70 local charities.
There will be two shows held tonight (March 6) at 4.45pm and 7pm, which will include ‘The Red Dragon Chinese Acrobats’, as well as clowns and Circus Starr’s Illusionist.
Circus Starr director Neville Wilson said: “We are absolutely delighted to be celebrating our 25th year in operation.
“It is a fantastic time to reflect on all the life changing work we have done.”
The not-for-profit organisation has helped raise £800,000 for charity in the last 10 years.
They also run a Donated Ticket Scheme, in which tickets are given free of charge to children’s charities and community groups.
The organisation is helpled by sponsorship and donations from local businesses.
Circus Starr visits 75 towns each year and aims to raise the profiles of those involved.
Mr Wilson added: “We are convinced this year will be a resounding success and we want to say a big thank you to everyone who makes our work possible.”
